Kids Taking Steroids

Donald Hooten is a leading member of the Taylor Hooten Foundation, an organization that aims to educate parents and youths on the dangers of performance enhancing drugs. Hooten, whose older brother died at 16 years old due to anabolic steroids, believes a new generation of youths are being raised who see the so-called benefits of steroid use but remain largely uneducated to the irreversible effects of anabolic drug use. According to Hooten, this can change if parents and coaches take a more vital role in the lives of these youth athletes. “Over 85% of kids in America have never had a parent, teacher, or coach talk to them about the dangers of these drugs”, Hooten says. “We [the Taylor Hooten Foundation] are here to get the word out to the parents and kids and hopefully shake up the landscape”.
