YFM wants to remind everyone that P.R.I.C.E. mentioned in the ankle article, is not a rehab technique, it is simply a first-aid measure. Rehabilitating the ankle back to full strength should be done through a progression, starting with getting swelling out and increasing range of motion, finishing with balance and strengthening exercises.
PHASE 1
Control the swelling and restore range of motion.
PHASE 2
Regaining strength and restoring stability.
PHASE 3
Improving strength and returning to the field.
